Probably the left-most warehouse building you can just see the peak of the roof behind the other one that's facing onto this photo. i.e. my photo was taken parallel with the tracks you see in the photo above. |

Thought I'd pick out a few of my own favourites! There's really too many to choose from, but here's a fairly random selection. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=576 ![]() This was when the wall at Kelvinbridge was still legal. I used to go past it almost daily to check it out, as it changed a lot at the time. I think I got some photos of this in the morning, then went back after work to get more. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=558 ![]() This was in Edinburgh, I think it was up for ages, although I believe the building it used to be on got demolished and flats built on it. Really clean lines. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=291 ![]() SQAN's stuff is still amongst my favourite graffiti, very underrated. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=4737 ![]() At the 'three chimneys' on Paral.lel in Barcelona. Graf by PornoStars. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=4687 ![]() I love this sort of stuff... just off the beach in Barcelona again. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=4050 ![]() Kiam77 in Amsterdam. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=5961 ![]() Kacao77 in Berlin. What's the significance of both Kacao and Kiam having 77 in their names? http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=5365 ![]() Nice fish-shapes from Asone. http://www.duncancumming.co.uk/photos.cfm?photo=2736 ![]() I got a box of free paint from Graphotism. Mak1 used some of it to paint this for me, which was nice. |

Who was it in the council that commissioned the boards on the Candleriggs? Anyone know Sam Bates? http://earz-mag.com/2008/01/sam-bates-painting-merchant-city/ If you're trying to put something together to convince people, that sort of popular stuff will go a long way [Edited by duncan on 09 Mar 09 07:55 PM] |

However, don't think that either Council or Police have any qualms with ignoring that where convenient. On the other hand, what use is a list of say 1000 names and addresses to the police? They're unlikely to use it to start doing dawn raids on everyone on the list. So long as you don't put down your tag next to your name or address. |

Gunghoe wrote: I know its been tried before, but we should make a petition, along with other examples of successful legal walls, and present it to the council. Remember, this would be very easy for the council to do and would cost almost nothing. The only thing holding them back is the fear that it would be politically unpopular, if we can convince them otherwise we’ll get what we want. I'm all for this idea. However I don't think anything will happen as long as James Coleman is on the Council. He's the guy the papers call on for a nasty quote every time there's an anti-graffiti story. Alternatively you bypass the council and try independent organisations who might be able to sort out legal wallspace. e.g. see the boards in Edinburgh, belongs to the Festival Theatre. |

I misunderstood what the Groups thing was for. It was more if you just wanted to group several forums together. Not for creating a group of users. So the private forum idea is still possible, but will require much more work to setup, i.e. it could be some way off, depending on when I feel I've got the time to sort this out. |

Possibly. There's a thing on this forum called Groups, and I can create a forum just for one group. But I just can't figure out how to put people into the group... :-/ Once I figure it out, a private pictures forum is a definite possibility, maybe with a public one too for anyone who still wanted. |

Great idea, but ambitious! Maybe you could post up the current month's words at the start of each month. Incidentally, instead of using that Australian site, I have a dictionary file I could post all the words up from... got two versions of the 4 letters, the short version has only(!) 2190 words to complete. Also got this for 2/3/5/6/7/8/9/10 letter words. There's only 89 words starting with A in my shortlist, might be more achievable? |

Or worse maybe there rule of the planet would be plagued by countless rebelions and anti Nazi terror groups bent on the distruction of the Nazi empire? Who knows, i guess every generation has it's hates loves and strugles a story in progress ever changing. All we can do is leave a mark! you should read The Man in the High Castle by Philip K Dick. Imagine the world if the Allies had lost the Second World War...Philip K Dick trips the switches of our minds with his vision of the world as it might have been: the African continent virtually wiped out, the Mediterranean drained to make farmland, the United States divided between the Japanese and the Nazis...In the neutral zone that divides the rival superpowers in America lives the author of an underground best-seller. His book - a rallying cry for all those who dream of overthrowing the occupiers - offers an alternative theory of world history. Does 'reality' lie with him, or is his world just one among many others?

It's unlikely they'd be able to do anything or would even want to be seen supporting, but might be worth a try. - check out what happened with previous cases like this; Ket, Krek and Mers etc and use their good ideas. There's no point doing any of this stuff if it's not coordinated, i.e. don't duplicate effort. I'm happy to do lots of online stuff to promote the cause, but don't want to step on the toes of anything that's already being done. |

skinnycap wrote: As you may have read in the rags Scottish Graffiti Writer Daze was sentenced to 28 months after "£270,000 of damage by spray painting graffiti on trains and public property." No one is denying accountability but the severity of the sentence should be in question. When disproportionate sentences are dished out you have to wonder what factors are influencing judgement, as clearly the punishment does not fit the crime. The language used to report was of course, deliberately provocative. Daze is in no way connected to "A Gang" he may be part of a collective or a crew but gang of course, is used to suggest violence & is the hacks way of misdirecting & demonising. For the record Daze is an amiable 21 year old and as gar from a "Yob" as it is possible to get. The Newspapers reported that Daze "... is now in prison after he admitted eight offences of malicious damage at Ayr Sheriff Court. When in actual fact only ONE was brought up in court, the only one he had admitted too. A breakdown of exactly how the figure of £270,000 in damages was arrived would make for intersting reading also. The sentence was welcomed by British Transport Police. Detective Chief Inspector Jim McKelvie said: "This sends out the signal that graffiti is nothing other than vandalism. How any reasonable human being could deliver & welcome a sentence of that severity is more damning of those involved in the passing & supporting of the sentence than it ever could be of a guy writing his name on a wall or the side of a train. Stay Tuned for ways to "Support Daze" good post. Keep me informed of anything that needs doing or promoted (what about a freedaze.com website?) I've put in a FOI request to the courts to get a copy of the judgement, although at this stage I'm not sure if FOI even applies to courts, there's some sort of exemption for court documents. |

Right, this thread has got pretty long, so I've setup a new forum just for the sketch battles. I'm moving this thread into there, but I suggest that you start up a new thread for each battle. And probably put the word for the battle into the subject line each time. Should make it easier to keep track of the whole thing. |

hey lyken... because the main bit of your site is only 560px wide, the column headers on the forum are all cramped together, i.e. the bit with Replies, Views and Last Post. dunno if you can shave a few pixels here and there to prevent it not sure i'm too keen on the Fireboard in general, seems to have a lot of weird features, but perhaps i'm just too used to this one. like, 'Karma', wtf?!? that'll never work... ;-) but like, what's the green bar represent? some people have red boxes, some have orange... what does that mean? i'm going to steal all your good ideas though. |
